Members in Distress: Marine Jim Ruggiero not feeling well, still recovering from several medical problems.

Report of Officers: Ed Johnson read several email pertaining to the flee market and the negative response.

Old Business: None.

New Business: We should visit the different Detachments to recruit new members for our Pound. Visits should be in the Fall. We will visit Law & Order Detachment November 3 rd at 4:30pm at Post 304.

Motion made to donate $25 to the VA Clinic Coffee Fund, motion by Tony Gutierrez to accept, 2 nd by Ed O'Donnell, motion passed.

Announcements: Intracoastal Detachment M.C. Ball is still being decided. Law & Order Detachment M.C. Ball will be Thursday November 10 th at Post 304. Law & Order Detachment is planning a trip to Parris Island sometime next year, detail will be forth coming.

Old Business: Ed Johnson needs an official letter of solicitation for the Festival Flee Market. Joe Motes will make up the letter and email to Ed Johnson.

New Business: Motion was made by Ed O'Donnell to buy all Scholarship Raffle for the Department, 2 nd by Tony Gutierrez.

Announcements: Tamarac will be celebrating its 20 th Anniversary at the Marriott North Lauderdale, on May 14 th ; all past Commandant are expected to attend. Tamarac will also be hosting the Department Summer Convention at the same location on June 16-19, 2011.

Installation: Past Pound Keeper Jim Ruggiero installed those officers present for 2011-2012.

New Business: A motion has been made to closing our account with Chase Morgan Bank and switching to Wachovia Bank as there is no service fee currently involved.

SE Division Conference in Orlando, hosted by the Florida Devil Dog Pack, March 3-6, 2011. Motion was made by Jim Ruggiero to buy a ½ page ad for the Division Conference, 2 nd by Tony Gutierrez, motion passed.

Motion was made to donate $50 to the Florida Pack for their Hospitality Room, motion passed.

Department Spring Conference scheduled for March 31-April 3, 2011, Motion was made by Jim Ruggiero to buy a ½ page ad for the Division Conference, 2 nd by Tony Gutierrez, motion passed.

Good of the Pound: Joe Motes made a motion to buy a bone and urinal, Ed Weber mentioned he might be able to pick both up saving and save us money, will let us know my March, motion passed as amended.

Ed Weber mentioned that only 4 Marines attended the Wreaths Across America at South Florida VA National Cemetery, this is a function that should have been attended by more Marines.

Announcements: Ed Weber mentioned there will be a bus chartered to take Vets to Homestead to see the Blue Angels perform, Louis Gewirth made a motion to donate 2 seats at $25 each, 2 nd by Tony Gutierrez, motion passed. Lou Calleja mentioned that Detachment 1045 will be renamed in honor of LCpl Justin J. Wilson who lost his life in Iraq. Lou also mentioned that the Spring Conference will be hosted again in Lake Buena Vista and that the FL Pack will be hosting the Growl at the SE Division Conference.

The schedule of the week's event for the USS Jason Durhan was discussed.

Announcements: Navy Appreciation Week, Intracoastal Detachment 1058 will be hosting some of the sailors and Marines at the St. John Restaurant at Bayview Drive between Oakland Park Blvd and Sunrise Blvd.

Good of the Pound: From Lou Calleja: Starting with the Fall Conference Growl, Oct 23, we will be bringing back pizza and beverages after the Growls. Bylaws for Pack have been written and are on our web site for our Dogs review. We will be voting on accepting them at the Oct 23 Growl. A budget will be ready for the membership's vote in June, during the Grand Growl. Coming-up in a few weeks is our Oct. 23rd Growl, please make an effort to attend and support your Pack.

Announcements: The Marine Corps Ball will be held Friday, November 6 th at the Pompano Beach Elks Club. Miami will be held November 7 th . West Palm Beach will also be held November 7 th.

Bob Coleman suggested that we should move our Pound meetings to Post 142 also.

Cliff Handerhan announced that our April Growl is Nominations for Officers and in our July Growl will have nominations and elections of Officers.

Ed O'Donnell suggested we should have two combined meetings a year with the Tamarac and Intracoastal Detachments.

Financial Report: Joe Motes reported 1328.46 bones in the account. We wrote a check for 75 bones to the Pack from our dues collected this past year. No motion to accept was made.

No applications for new members.

Old Business: John Palermo reported no meeting in November, Ed Weber will bring to the floor at the Conference that the 10 th District hold a Growl at weekend, David Benner requested that we mail out reminders prior to the Growls, James Ruggiero requested that we visit each Detachment to promote our Pound and recruit new members. It was decided our next year's meetings will be: January 22 nd , April 23 rd , July 23 rd and October 22 nd . Motioned was made by Dave Benner, seconded by James Ruggiero for these future dates.

John Palermo mentioned that we took a full page ad for our Pound for the Detachment Conference Journal.

New Business:

Cliff Handerhan mentioned that we are now in compliance with our EIN. Ed Johnson mentioned that the Intracoastal Detachment will be holding its annual Marine Corp Ball on November 8 th , tickets are $40.

Financial Report: Joe Motes reported $395.24 bones in the new account. We have a check for $1137.98 bones to be deposited from the old account. No Motion to accept was made.

No applications for new members.

John Palermo reported that the Tamarac Detachment has landed the Fall Conference and that we need to let the other Detachments aware so they will support us.

James Ruggiero suggested that we should hold meetings in the months of September and November and at our January meeting discuss which months we would hold the 2009 meetings.

Members in Distress:

Ed Johnson's wife is sick.

John Palermo's sister has breast cancer.

New Business:

James Ruggiero suggested we have a District meeting at the Summer Convention and that we should visit each Detachment to recruit new members.

Ed Webber brought back to the table the dues increase that was tables at the last meeting.

James Ruggiero motioned that we increase the dues for new members to $35 bones and renewals to $30 bones. Motioned was seconded by Ed Webber. Motion was carried.

A letter will be mailed to all members concerning the dues increase and the meeting dates.

Financial Report: Joe Motes reported $1678.98 bones in the account. We have opened a new bank account and we need to have an audit of the current account.

Cliff reported that the 10 th District meeting will be held on May 2-4, 2008 in Marathon . We will also have a Growl.

James Ruggiero is still recovering.

New Business:

Joe Motes mention we now have the paper work from the IRS with our EIN. We are also incorporated with the State of Florida .

Cliff Handerhan mentioned we need to have a meeting to bring up the Dues increase from $25 to $35. Ed O'Donnell express that we should first consider getting new members to join the Devil Dogs and look at raising the dues later in the year.

John Palermo motioned that we should buy 100 forever stamps for $41.00 bones, seconded by Ed O'Connell, motion carried.
